Samsung Galaxy S5 Review and Specification
Samsung Galaxy S5 - You will immediately know what you get with the Samsung Galaxy S5 even before you unbox it, because this is 2014 superphone. Big, bright screen. Oodles of power. Brilliant camera. We expect every one of the major smartphone players to get the right bits on their flagships - after all, they have perfected this model for years. From now on it will be the small details that separate the best-in-class of the also-rans; aspects that seem trivial everyday usability that makes the difference between a beautiful phone to live with and one that is only a tool. Galaxy smartphones are known for going big: on screen, specifications, software tricks and, of course, sales. The S5 is no exception, but the little things can be just as fun as the main feature, and that's what the S5 will need to get right if it is to be the best.

If there's one thing that menjelas that Samsung is still falling behind its competitors, is industrial design. Galaxy S4 sweating, All plastic build does not feel very nice to hold Your smartphone-types really don't mind wearing case. While the S5 directly identified as a Galaxy, Samsung has tweaked the design by adding a berlesung polycarbonate Pipit (removable) rear panel gives your fingers something to adhere to. In that work. This is a great phone, but new textures combine with note 3-the metal-look to make this Galaxy grippiest yet. It is just as light as S4 (OK, 15 g weight) and also more solidly built that his predecessor, who is prone to strange creak.
Improve the S4 isn't enough, though. In addition to the impressive LG G2 engineered S5 look a generation behind, with an area of bezels on the front and a larger overall handprint. G2 has only the ratio of the screen to a better size. Second, how the phone feels when you take it 100 times a day is half the battle. Rear Panel "Modern Glam" is still not visible part of smartphone 600 £. Perhaps it is exactly the kind of styling Samsung hordes of fans is after, but to our eyes is far from sophisticated curve HTC one M8. We do not say "go or go home metal" (Nexus 5 is a prime example of the earthy perfection polycarbonate) and ditching the false Note 3 stitches is a good decision, but Samsung needs to think classy. Third, while the S5 feels pretty solid, crank up the volume when watching movies in bed and you can hear the speaker behind the rear panel of the S5 shakes hard enough. It is not something you would expect from a flagship like this. In short, we're not lured by S5 aesthetics, but there may be people out there who will. In addition, Samsung has a function form-IP67 waterproofing. Make sure the rear panel and includes a well-equipped port. No one wants a wet battery.
UPDATE: Samsung already sent us over a charcoal black models and we are more taken with it than our original White Shimmery units. Design critique we are still standing but this is clearly a model we would go for our yet-to electric blue eyes and copper gold.
BIG SCREEN: 5.1IN, SUPER AMOLED
Fortunately the screen will further distract you from S5 divisive aesthetics. In 5.1 in, it's just bigger than the S4-but now the dazzling Super AMOLED screen. It is still full HD resolution, so there is little to 432ppi of 441ppi S4, but you really don't see. What you will notice is how bright it is, how easy it is to read outdoors and how bright colors. And to combat criticism of alien colors, customize the look of your Samsung automated settings screen mode switch depending on what you are doing-dynamic mode to make homes and lockscreens really pop, and cinema mode to natural palette for the film. This is the smartphone screen equivalent have your cake and eat it. We happily clear when rumours (ultimately unfounded) 2 K screen appears, but while it does what we've ended up with is a lot of sharp and there is a very good point of view. It was not quite the best-LG G2 offers a larger screen, crisper images and a little more contrast in the smaller body. But the look is still pretty S5 absolutely stuner.

The S5 is a very impressive smartphone snapper. To get started, this is seriously fast autofocus. Samsung argues that it's as fast as up to 0.2 s; We can't count that fast, but we know this is one of the nippiest we've seen on a phone. 16MP sensor capture accurate color, contrast and a mass of detail when used outdoors in good light, so a tour incredible cam ad hoc. Enhanced HDR mode is one of the best we've used, too-it is lightning fast and results in light of complex close to magic. But indoors it's only so-so, and in low light it comfortably beaten by night vision HTC one (M8) and LG G2. The colors remained accurate but the image looks too rough to be used. Zooming in on the image of the landscape? Yes, go for it (after all, it is not something that you can do very effectively on a 4MP (M8)). Your partner's face in the dimly lit restaurant? Not so hot.
Selective focus-Samsung Lytro-Tech version like so in vogue now-offer close focus, focus distances and pan focus after you've taken the shot. The subject nearest you should be 50 cm or near and, unlike on HTC, the mode has been selected before you start snapping. But although software-based, with no additional sensors, it works quite well and a cool feature that cut above a bit gimicky software Samsung tricks have been guilty of in the past.

The camera app itself has been simplified, too, with one big boo-boo: Samsung’s ditched its night mode altogether. For low light shots Samsung suggests its new Picture Stabilisation mode, but this is hidden as a toggle in the phone’s main settings. After Auto, this is probably the most used setting, so having to jump through hoops to get to it is a misstep. for video, the S5 joins the Note 3 in the 4K club - footage is smooth and looks as crisp as the screen you’re viewing it on will allow. In most cases, the excellent full HD footage will do.
BIG ON FEATURES
BIG ON FEATURES
With so much happening, S5 needs order. And this is easily the most user friendly version of Android yet to grace the Galaxy. TouchWiz, as it is known, has never had a lot of fans. Great features such as running two apps side by side with Multi window is useful, but there is always a little too much confusion and chaos.

The S5 is different. It's not quite as painstakingly crafted as iOS yet and we're sure Google S5 Edition (with vanilla Android KitKat) will sell well. But now on the road to brilliance. Icon tweaked look simple and fresh and core applications like the calendar's planners have been overhauled to look clean and calming in S4 of their colleagues are busy.
Where once we'll unbox smartphone is already bloated with additional applications, Samsung and download free subscriptions now smoothed away in the Galaxy and Galaxy nucleus Prize widget-it is then up to you which You install and which you ignore.
A great addition is My magazine, the flow of images and links to news articles that are supported by Flipboard and sat to the left of the main homescreen. HTC BlinkFeed is slightly more useful — it shows a specific RSS feeds and calendar appointments – but the Samsung app is way crowded together to jump to the morning news. Once again, Samsung is to learn to become less pushy-I magazine can be killed in the settings.
Using the S5 can still feel amazing at the time, mind you. The settings Menu is somewhat exaggerated filled with choice, as far as we give up scrolling icon and use the search tool. All innovation is Samsung familiar here if you want them, including last year's movement movement (eye tracking, touchless scrolling, etc.) neatly stored in its own section. It's worth noting that nothing useful and intuitive everyday as one (M8) swipe-and press-to-open movement. Then there's the new features ...
